Core Improvements
New Premade Workouts & Workout Tab Redesign User Requested
I noticed a lot of users were using the premade workouts. They were good workouts, but they were dry and didn’t have a lot of variety. Happy to say I worked with a certified personal trainer to overhaul the premade workouts to have more variety and be more effective and efficient. The workout tab now has less visual clutter too—tapping a workout or template opens a new sheet with useful information about it, including estimated time to complete, equipment needed, and a list of exercises (with your notes).
Improved Template Editing User Requested
You can now edit templates outside of active workouts. This should make it easier to manage your templates and ensure they’re always up to date. Tap on a template to open the template’s overview where you can rename, reorder, remove, or add exercises, and more.
Exercise Creation User Requested
If you have an exercise that is not in the boq bands app library, you can now create your own custom exercises that you can use in your workouts.
Exercise Animations and Details User Requested
To help you understand the exercise better, we’ve added animations next to each exercise. Additionally, we’ve added simple 4 step guides to help you perform the exercise correctly.
Equipment Suggestions User Requested
We’ve added equipment suggestions to the Bands Tab. This will help newer users understand what equipment is needed to get started with resistance bands. It will also help experienced users understand how they can improve their current equipment setup.
Improved Exercise Notes User Requested
You can now easily track common notes for your exercises in workouts. There are new tappable pills that cleanly add these notes to your exercise. This includes equipment (barbell, footplate, anchor, handles, squat block, pad), band length (short, medium, long), and position (seated, kneeling, standing, lying, prone). For example, tap “standing” and “long” to log how you did the set. For more custom notes, you can continue to use the existing note input. If you think we’re missing any common notes, please let us know!
Exercise Drag and Drop
Instead of buttons for moving exercises up and down, you can now drag and drop exercises to reorder them saving space and making it easier to reorder exercises.
Swipe to Delete Set
Swipe left on a set in an active workout to delete it. This should make it easier to remove sets you don’t need.
We'd love to hear what you think—reach out by email with feedback or feature ideas.
